Make your Corporate Event Awesome with These 4 Tips.
There are a plethora of Corporate Entertainment Tips available on the web, and most of them are spot on. That being said, we’d like throw our two cents on the pile of great ideas… two cents that come directly from our experiences providing entertainment for corporate events through Special Event Djz.
If you’re the person responsible for hiring the corporate entertainment for your event, you need to make sure you are on top of things and not cutting corners. The last thing you want to do is have your guests watching the clock like a high school senior in during last month of school. While it seems like an almost impossible task, it really isn’t.
Here are a few Things to Keep in Mind when Hiring Corporate Entertainers for your Event.
Here are some Corporate Entertainment Tips you need to keep in mind when booking entertainment for a corporate event, be it a sales conference, a company party, or even a banquet to celebrate a milestone.
1. Do your research and know what and who you’re hiring.
This may seem like a “duh” moment for most of us, but unfortunately, many planners skip this very important step when hiring entertainers for their corporate event. Regardless of the other tasks you’re involved with, you need to ensure that you know as much as you can about the performers before you commit.
Be sure to check out the entertainer’s site, look for reviews, and ask for referrals from previous customers. If you spot anything that causes you to question them, just move on to the next entertainer on the list. This is the only way to ensure there are no negative surprises.
While we specialize in producing fun/carefree events here at Special Event Djz, we are extremely serious about who we hire to represent us at all events… especially corporate events. Our Djs, MCs, and entire staff are vetted and trained to ensure the highest level of professionalism.
2. Ask the Entertainment Company for Promotional Materials
Sometimes, taking someone’s word is just not enough to trust their skills as a corporate entertainer. We always provide access to promotional materials, such as:
• Promotional videos showing us actively participating in events.
• Bios of our DJs and MCs
• Testimonials from Previous Clients.
• Links to our online reviews at Yelp or Google.
Having this info in hand will make you feel better about the entertainer, and also give you an idea of what to expect.
3. Corporate Entertainment is different from Weddings and Private Parties.
When holding a private non-corporate event, you usually are surrounded by friends, family, and/or like-minded people. Corporate Events, on the other hand, are a more diverse audience and should be approached differently than other types of events.
The last thing you would want is for any of your corporate event attendees to be offended by your choice of entertainment. A DJ’s and Master of Ceremonies approach should match the event you’re holding and be palatable for the entire group. This is why it’s important to ensure you hire an experienced entertainer who understands the corporate atmosphere and can work within those parameters.
4. Ask the Entertainer for Their Requirements
Surprises on the night of the event are the last thing you need. Realizing that the entertainer you’ve booked can’t perform due to a lack of necessities… like a power outlet for a PA system, would really drag the event down into negative space.
Make sure you ask about these things in ahead of time so you can make sure everything goes smoothly.
Doing so will allow you at enjoy the event rather than scurrying around trying to rectify the situation.
